Frequently Asked Questions
Subscriber FAQs:
Q: Can I choose 12 virtues from the schedule?
A: The monthly virtues follow along a three-year schedule. At any given time the current month, previous month and the next two months are available for viewing. Because of this schedule, and because the material is written fresh for each month, we are unable to offer the functionality of selecting virtues in a random order.

Q: Can I buy three years worth of materials and then just reuse what I have?
A: The license agreement enables an organization to use the curriculum during a specified consecutive 12-month period. The license doesn't provide possession of the materials for reuse outside of a current license agreement. In addition, while the virtue schedule repeats every three years, the curriculum is written fresh to provide relevant and timely lessons.

Q: What resources are available?
A: 252 Basics includes a complete set of resources for leaders as well as supplemental materials for parents and kids. The shared emphasis of both church and home instruction provides children with a consistent message. Resources include music CDs, videos, posters, books and more. To see the complete line of resources, go to www.therethinkstore.org.

Q: How does the Get Reel DVD fit with the curriculum?
A: These DVDs are designed as add-on media segments. Each segment is between one and a half to four minutes long. They are designed for use during the Family Productions or the large group portion of the curriculum.

Each DVD includes Media Time videos for the virtues within one quarter of the curriculum. The videos include one each of: Dear God, Virtoons, Wonder and Go Wild! for each virtue, for a total of 12 videos (four per each month in the quarter).

Virtoons
Animation has been reaching our hearts and minds with memorable images since Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie. These short animated pieces clearly show a complete story of the virtue in action. We use simple characters, telling a simple story, with a solid message.

Wonder
Cutting edge camera work and editing let us see parts of a three-way conversation. Kids talk about the monthly virtue at the beginning of each month. They explore the reasons we study the virtue and open up a world of wonder that points to a really big God.

Dear God
Take a look at the monthly virtue from the point of view of a kid writing in a computer journal. The honesty and integrity of a kid writing out thoughts to God gives a unique personalized view of everyday circumstances that reveals as much about our own hearts as his/hers.

Go Wild!
A look at the world around us and how it opens up a new understanding of the monthly virtue. A host leads the viewers on a fast-paced look at some amazing evidence of God's plan and wisdom as revealed in nature.

Q: Where can I find the schedule of virtues?
A: The monthly virtues are scheduled along a three-year timeline. Every three years, the virtues are repeated, though the curriculum material is freshly written.

Q: Why don't First Look, 252 Basics and XP3 have the same focus each month?
A: The First Look, 252 and XP3 curriculums are aligned in strategy but differ in content. At The reThink Group, we feel that when all age groups discuss the same subject, relevance is compromised. There are issues that each age group faces in specific ways, and when there is a blanket topic, usually one or more groups is forced to fit with the subject matter.

Q: Why are some of the letters missing when I print?
A: When using Adobe Reader and printing grayscale, please be sure to set the Advanced Option for "Set Font and Reserve Policy" to "Send At Start."

Q: When I print the materials, it prints black boxes.
A: When printing, be sure to open the PDF documents with Adobe Acrobat Reader, and then proceed to print. Printing the PDFs from the preview pane and not Adobe Acrobat Reader will sometimes create black boxes on the printed page.

Q: I've entered my 252 Basics username and password, and I still can't log into the store.
A: Usernames and passwords from the curriculum sites don't automatically work on each other, or subsidiary sites. All web sites and accounts for The reThink Group are separate and therefore require separate account setup. For The reThink Store, a profile will need to be setup before placing an order.

Q: When I try to setup a profile at The reThink Store, I receive an error message that my username already exists. However, when I attempt to retrieve my login information, my email address isn't recognized.
A: When setting up a profile, it is possible that another customer has already used the username you are requesting. Please select a unique username and password for your store profile.

Q: How do I retrieve my username and password? (click here)

Q: What is the password for the PDFs so I can edit them?
A: All PDFs within the curriculum are copyright protected as a whole, due to the use of graphics, layout and design. Therefore all PDFs are password-protected. If you would like to edit the material, you can do so by using the Word documents provided.

Q: How do I make an audio CD?
A: You will need to have a CD writer and appropriate software. Most CD writers come with software included, which will allow you to make an audio CD. An example of software which will create an audio CD is iTunes (apple.com/itunes)

Q: Can I make CDs of the music for all of my parents?
A: All music provided by The reThink Group is copyrighted. Our writers and performers depend on royalties earned through purchased music. To request permission to create CDs from the music, please contact us.

Q: Why do the PDFs not view or print correctly?
A: If you are experiencing problems with your PDFs displaying only a white page, or you are receiving an error that the viewer cannot decrypt the document, please update your Adobe Reader to the latest version. You will find the most recent installers at www.adobe.com.

Q: Why do the GodTime cards not print correctly?
A: If they are printing slightly left justified, then make sure that they are not set to "fit to page" in your page setup and/or print settings.

Q: How do I change the primary user?
A: To change the primary user information, the current primary user can log in and modify the account with updated information. Should the primary user leave, a secondary user, or new ministry leader can change the primary user info by contacting us.

Q: What is a secondary user?
A: A secondary user can be a volunteer, staff member or teacher that needs access to the materials for downloading and distributing. A secondary user is not able to make any changes to the account.

Q: How do I add secondary users to my account?
A: To add a secondary user, the primary user or coach must login, and on their Curriculum Administration and User Management page (the page seen directly after log in), there will be the option to add secondary users.

If you want to add more secondary users than the 10 or 20 you received with your initial license agreement, they are available at a charge of $20 per 10 users per year. To request more users contact us.

Q: Why can I not download? Or, I receive an error when I download.
A: PC Users
If you are on a PC, you probably have a temporary file hanging around from a previous failed download. You should go to Start menu > Settings > Control Panels > Internet Options. From the General tab, click on the button in the Temporary Internet Files panel. Click on the Delete Files button to remove any failed download or partial download of that file.

Also, Click on the 'Settings' button in this same panel and make sure that your browser is set to 'Check for newer version of stored pages' at 'every visit to the page.' Apply the changes and close the 'Internet Options' window.

A: Mac Users
If you are on a Mac, you can accomplish the same thing by going to 'Preferences > Advanced > Empty Now' under 'Cache Settings.'

Q: Can I post materials on the church web site?
A: 252 Basics documents cannot be posted on church web sites with the exception of GodTime Cards and Refrigerator Door cards. Should you need to make materials available to your team, utilize the secondary users feature to add access for volunteers and staff.

Q: How much does the renewal cost?
A: Pricing for 252 Basics is determined by the average number of children attending. To view the pricing matrix, click here.

The curriculum retails at $200 per month. When a church purchases a year license, the price is discounted significantly from that $200 per month price--more than a 70% savings. The yearly license fee includes all downloadable material for small group, large group, Family Production and featured music. There are no additional fees for the yearly license.

Q: Can I purchase individual months of curriculum?
A: Licenses are only sold in 12-month periods. However, a selection of curriculum bundles is available at www.therethinkstore.org. A bundle is a great way to try out the curriculum for one month. The bundle includes the 252 Basics curriculum for the entire month, along with five Virtue Packs of the corresponding virtue, plus a Get Reel that includes two- to four-minute video clips.

Q: Do you accept checks?
A: All payments for 252 Basics are completed online during the sign-up process. Accepted forms of payments are major credit cards and echecks. Echecks are an electronic draft from a checking account. By using the echeck feature, you will enter the routing number, checking account number and bank name. It is not necessary to mail a check to our office.

Q: Can you invoice me for the curriculum renewal?
A: The reThink Group doesn't setup billing accounts for invoicing. Payments for 252 Basics are completed online with a major credit card or with an echeck. An echeck is an electronic draft from a checking account. Should you choose to pay with an echeck, it is not necessary to mail a check to our office.

Q: Can I get a receipt for the 252 Basics license I purchased?
A: Receipts for the license payment are e-mailed to the e-mail address indicated at the time of sign-up. Please check any junk mail or SPAM folders. If a receipt is lost, contact us. Our team can e-mail a receipt directly to you.

Q: What is the refund policy if I decide to cancel?
A: The curriculum retails at $200 per month. When a church purchases a year license, the price is discounted significantly from that $200 per month price. Therefore, when an account is cancelled, the discount is lost and the cost of the curriculum reverts to the retail price of $200 per month, plus there's a $50 cancellation fee.

REFUND POLICY:
All 252 Basics license terms are 12 months.

Cancellations are accepted within 60 days of account sign-up or renewal with the following fees imposed:

1) $50.00 cancellation fee

2) $200.00 for each month's curriculum previously downloaded

Only one cancellation per curriculum license is allowed per organization.

THE TOTAL REFUND DUE WILL EQUAL THE ORIGINAL LICENSE FEE PAYMENT, LESS THE $50 CANCELLATION FEE AND ANY APPLICABLE DOWNLOAD CHARGES.

Q: Where can I find suggested music?
A: Music CDs are available at our online store, www.therethinkstore.org.

Q: Are chord charts available?
A: Chord charts are available at www.therethinkstore.org.

Q: Are there lyrics available for virtue songs?
A: Lyrics are available for each of our virtue CDs. Standard CDs include a booklet in the CD case with printed lyrics. Track CDs include PDF files of the lyrics. Lyrics for the primary virtue song each month is included on the 252 Basics web site in Microsoft Word format.

Q: How do I retrieve past curriculum?
A: Once the curriculum is pulled off of the web site, it is archived in a database. Curriculum cannot be retrieved outside of a license's terms. In addition, there is a $25 charge per month retrieval fee. (The information regarding retrieval fees can be found in the license agreement: "In the event that you require materials that are no longer available on the website, retrieval is available for a fee of up to $25.00 for a complete month retrieved.")

Also, since the original license purchase grants use of the curriculum, rather than possession of the curriculum, the months being retrieved are only valid to be used during a current license period.

To retrieve past curriculum from a former license to be used within an active license, please contact us.

Q: What kind of support do you offer once I purchase the curriculum?
A: Partner Development Directors are regional representatives who are actively involved in the implementation of 252 Basics at a local church. The PDDs are available to answer questions about implementing the curriculum, generating involvement from the community, editing materials to fit specific environments and much more. To talk with your representative, contact us.

Q: What kind of training opportunities do you have?
A: The reThink Group offers training through The Orange Tour (www.orangetour.org) and The Orange Conference (www.theorangeconference.com). The Orange Tour is a series of regional events across the United States providing foundational training for churches new to the curriculums and concepts of Orange. The Orange Conference is a yearly event held in Atlanta, Ga., where nationally recognized speakers and practitioners share their insights and knowledge of family ministry and church strategy.

July's curriculum was awesome! [252 Basics] had a HUGE impact on the kids in our ministry, and on me! The activities were incredible and the Bible lessons were perfect to hit the message on the head. The kids are absolutely loving the curriculum!
